Ahmed Aboub is an award-winning filmmaker from Morocco. He attended the prestigious Ecole des Hautes Etudes Cinematographiques (E.H.E.C.) in Paris, where he graduated with a degree in Film Directing.

Aboub’s films have been shown at festivals and venues around the world, including Cannes, Venice, Toronto, and Tribeca. His films have received numerous awards, including the International Critics Prize at the Venice Film Festival for “The Curtain of Dreams” (2015), a Special Jury Prize at the Marrakech International Film Festival for “The Golden Cage” (2012), and a Golden Leopard at the Locarno Film Festival for “The Night of the Living” (2010).

Aboub’s films explore themes of faith, identity, and social justice. He often uses a documentary-style to capture the lives of everyday people in Morocco. His films have been described as “meticulously crafted”, “intimate” and “vibrant”.

In addition to his filmmaking work, Aboub is a passionate advocate for social change in his home country. He has been involved in a number of initiatives to promote the rights of women and children, as well as to raise public awareness of social issues.

Aboub is currently working on several projects, including a feature-length documentary about a young Moroccan girl’s struggle with poverty and her dreams of a better future. He is also developing a narrative feature about a man who is forced to confront his own mortality.
