About Telluride Film Festival

The Telluride Film Festival is an invitation-curated cinema event held annually over Labor Day weekend in the mountain town of Telluride, Colorado. The program brings together roughly 60 feature films, shorts and revivals from more than 30 countries, mixing narrative and documentary works, and is recognized as a key launchpad for awards-season titles. Documentary programming is a core part of the festival, with recent editions spotlighting major nonfiction works alongside filmmaker tributes and conversations. The festival deliberately keeps its lineup secret until opening day and does not present competitive jury prizes, preferring a curatorial approach focused on discovery.
