This episode of UN In Action is only a quick look at what the UN agencies are dealing with the worst humanitarian crisis in the world: Yemen.

Yemen: Humanitarian Crisis

Yemen: Humanitarian Crisis

Yemen is the worst humanitarian crisis in the world. More than 22 million people need help right now. The impact of the conflict is devastating. Hunger is everywhere. 17 million Yemenis – 60 per cent of the population – do not know where their next meal is coming from. Millions of people lack safe drinking water and proper sanitation.

Last year, the largest cholera outbreak in modern history claimed thousands of lives. There are many obstacles and difficulties, but front-line agencies are doing everything they can to reach the people who need help the most. Each month, seven million people are receiving help; in the months ahead, partners will be reaching more than 8 million. (Video courtesy of OHCHR, WFP, and UNICEF)
