Three marching bands prepare for the traditional Mardi Grass parade in New Orleans, America's most musical city, and one of its most dangerous.
The Whole Gritty City, Three Marching Bands from New Orleans
In the capital of jazz, everyone prepares for the traditional Mardi Grass parade, including the young musicians of three marching bands who seek to overcome the obstacles of life by demonstrating their talent with a musical instrument in hand.
This documentary allows us to meet the little prodigies of the Crusaders Marching Band, the Chargers Marching Band and the St. Agustine Highschool Purple Knights both in the rehearsal rooms and in their everyday environments.
Contributing most of the time as main participants in the narrative of the film, the directors of the bands play a key role in this cultural ecosystem and in the lives of each of the children who find autonomy, education and the motivation to be better people through music and team work.
