Remember My Name - Crossing fences is only the beginning
In the Spanish enclave of Melilla, where Africa meets Europe, migration becomes an intimate story of childhood interrupted. Ihsane, having just crossed the fence from Morocco, enters the “Divina Infantita” nuns’ reception centre, a place where Assia and Nuhaila already live and try to shape a sense of belonging.
Meanwhile, Hamza faces the brutal threshold of adulthood: his 18th birthday forces him out of La Purísima, the reception centre for unaccompanied boys.
The documentary captures the fragility of these lives caught between borders, institutions, and futures that remain uncertain. It is a portrait of resilience, longing, and the fragile passage from childhood to adulthood in the margins of Europe.
