On The Way Home. A simple Russian tale

AleksEy has been driving his truck for twenty years for long distances through the big Russian cities, but a terminal illness could soon bring it all to a halt.

The problem is there, but it blurs into the day-to-day life of Valya, his wife, who takes care of the house along with her faithful guard dog.

The two don't see each other often, they have a life accustomed to calling each other on the phone during in AleksEy's long absences.

This documentary observes a difficult moment in their lives when death looms. Shot with the subtlety of a poet, the film achieves a profound truth and expresses a sense of humanity, sacrifice and love in every frame.
