Damascus Dream - A journey through memory and lost heritage
Émilie Serri, born in Canada to a Syrian father, had only a fleeting connection to Syria before the outbreak of the civil war. After the death of her grandmother, a deep longing to understand her roots took hold, driving her to explore her father’s homeland more profoundly.
Through old family photos, films, and interviews with family members and other Syrians forced to flee, Serri embarks on a personal and poignant journey. In this documentary, she blends her memories with those of others, seeking to uncover the stories that shape her identity and reconnect her with a lost part of her heritage.
