In the heart of Rotterdam, New York, a group of troubled young men, including Tayfun, Nabil, and Delgano, struggle to adapt to societal norms after being removed from their crime-ridden environment.
Through the lens of Marina Meijer, winner of the Karen de Bok Talent Award, this documentary intimately captures their fragmented dialogues and internal conflicts. Their mentors, including Toine, now an art teacher, embody the patience and empathy needed to guide these youths.
The film highlights the systemic issues of inequality and the immense challenge faced by caregivers in helping young adults make positive changes.
