We also love technology. We invest heavily in creating the best possible viewing experience, building apps and a platform designed specifically for documentary lovers.

· We do not obsess over premieres.
A great documentary is timeless. If it is good and it has a powerful story, it deserves to be seen.
· We do not seek exclusivity.
We want filmmakers to reach as many viewers as possible and we encourage them to distribute their films on every platform available.
· We adapt to filmmakers, not the other way around.
We are flexible, transparent and easy to work with. This is the agreement we usually offer.
· We do not pay commissions to intermediaries.
We operate on a simple revenue share system.
· Fifty percent of all subscription revenue goes directly to the filmmakers.
The other fifty percent covers everything else, including servers, development, technology, salaries, marketing and operational costs.
· GuideDoc is fully independent and self financed.
We started in September 2016 without external investors. It is not easy, but it keeps us free and focused on our mission.
· We keep costs extremely low to maximize filmmaker earnings.
We avoid unnecessary expenses like format conversions, sending tapes across oceans or outdated technical processes.
· We do not have a phone number.
We are a small team and work more efficiently by managing everything via email.
· Every day we work to bring documentaries to more people
and to return as much money as possible to the creators who make them.
· We do this because we love it.
