In 2005, a suicide bomber walked into Ashraf's wedding, killing 27 people. Now he is on a quest to confront terrorism around the globe.
Killing in the Name, fighting terrorism from within
After suffering the loss of 27 relatives and friends in a terrorist attack perpetrated in his wedding by a suicide bomber, Ashraf Al-khaled decided to break the taboo within his fellow Muslims when it comes to talk about resorting to terrorist acts in the name of a greater cause.
In this Oscar nominated short film, director Jed Rothstein follows Ashraf in his mission to question violence as a way to defend Islam, in which, among other visits, he confronts the father of Raed Mandour, who killed 127 people in Iraq in 2005 and received a heroic funeral held by his family in his native Jordan.
